I got a chance to see the not-quite-out-yet-brand-new OKI C9541 White toner printer – and it’s BIG. BIG in size. Big in Print area. Big in Colors.

The only reason I’m starting here is because it is so much larger than what we’ve looked at before from OKI and their white toner printers.
The original 920WT was a solid printer when I first saw it as part of the Digital HeatFX system. It worked great, had a nice industrial feel and there are tons of them still going strong making custom t-shirts.
It was 18.5“ x 25.8“ x 24.6“ and about 180lbs.
About 18 month ago it was replaced with the OKI 8432WT that we talked about here too. While the 920WT was discontinued, the 8432WT is still living on even after the C9451 hits the streets.
One of my favorite things about this printer was that it’s a true DESKTOP t-shirt transfer machine. The 920 was a bit heavy and large, so you needed a really strong desk or a stand. The 8432WT is about the size of a regular color printer:
The OKI pro8432WT size is: 17.7“ x 21.7“ x 14.2“ and under 82lbs. The key this system is that while a lot smaller and more portable than the 920WT, the page size was almost exactly the same. So all of my home-based business readers were happy – great quality t-shirt transfers the could make with this cool printer that would sit next to their desktop.
OKI pro9541 is a different story. OKI heard the commercial marketplace ask for something MORE [Hello, screen printers]
You can immediately SEE the difference between the pro8432WT and the OKI pro 9541.
The printer just LOOKS like a professional, heavy duty printer.
It’s 25″ x 27.5″ x 24″
And it’s 244lbs.

This printer has a HUGE advantage over the pro920WT and the pro8432WT – It prints with BLACK toner.
AND white toner
At the same time.
The ONE complaint I’ve heard from Digital HeatFX/OKI users is about the black not being REALLY, REALLY black. Of course, the vast majority of customers don’t notice that this is a composite black. The businesses are generally just psyching themselves out.
But the new pro9541 is a CMYKW printer. It’s got ALL the colors!
Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, BLACK AND WHITE toner.
That means it will do a better job on spot colors. Like hitting UPS brown for example, instead of just getting close.
It means that not only will the black in any of your t-shirt transfers be really, really BLACK, but the rest of your colors may be a bit more vibrant too.

Last note on this amazing new printer – it PRINTS bigger too!
What will probably be called the Digital HeatFX 9451 will print up to 13″ x 18″
The 8432WT and 920WT could only work with 11×17″ paper
That’s 20% more space on the transfer or an extra 47 square inches!
May not seem like much – but that’s a lot of extra space to print 2×4″ logos for a left chest.
Looks like ColDesi and the Digital HeatFX brand will have this printer available in December of this year – so be on the look out! I know I will!.
